A Peer-led Weekend of Self-Discovery

Events in the US, Israel, and Mexico

Financial Aid

The full fee (regular registration) is US$875 in the United States.

Early-registration discounts are available to those who pay in full by 8 weeks before the start of the event. “Brothers & Friends” discounts are available for men who register jointly with a non-SSA friend or supporter.

We also offer two types of financial assistance, partial sponsorships (grants) and payment plans:

    • If you qualify for a partial sponsorship, it will cover at least $350 and at most $525 of the regular $875 fee. That means that, depending on the size of the sponsorship awarded, you may need to pay as little as $350 (if you receive a $525 sponsorship). We do not award any 100% sponsorships. If you need more assistance than we can provide, you’ll need to raise those funds on your own.
      • If you qualify for a payment plan, we will arrange for you to make automatic monthly payments (usually $100 monthly) to pay the balance due—as long as we receive at least $350 from you no later than 2 weeks before the event. Brothers Road will set up a recurring online payment plan for you.

It’s possible that you may receive both a partial sponsorship and a payment plan, as long as you pay at least the full minimum deposit in advance.

Men who take advantage of the early-registration discount or the Brothers and Friends discount are not eligible for a sponsorship or payment plan.

We do not offer financial assistance to help with your travel costs.

Brothers Road is a non-profit (501c3) fellowship. You can donate to our sponsorship fund here to help others to experience Journey Into Manhood.

    What is eligibility based on?

Eligibility for financial assistance is based on

    1. Your financial need
    2. Your commitment to growth and self-improvement
    3. Our available funds from donations to cover sponsorships for a particular Journey Into Manhood event.

We have no standardized expectations as to what constitutes financial need. We will ask you about your typical monthly income and any unusual expenses or circumstances that we should consider.

How does the payment plan work?

You might be approved for a payment plan instead of — or in addition to — a partial sponsorship. For example, if you are attending a U.S. event, you will pay at least the minimum deposit of US$350 in advance, then sign up online to make monthly automatic payments (usually $100) for whatever amount you still owe after your sponsorship.

If you have questions, contact the Brothers Road administrator at [email protected]

    Sponsorship Fund

Your tax-deductible donation to Brothers on a Road Less Traveled (registered in the U.S. as a 501c3 non-profit organization) enables men to experience the Journey Into Manhood weekend — a life-changing turning point for many — who otherwise would not have the resources to participate.

Donations help cover such expenses as:

    • Renting group camps or retreat centers with large meeting rooms
    • Providing meals and accommodations for participants and volunteer staff
    • Transportation costs for certain essential volunteer staff
    • Purchasing and shipping necessary materials
    • Administration

Our goal is to have at least US$2,500 in sponsorship funds available for every workshop, to partially fund at least 5 participants per event.

You can make a donation online or mail a check to:

How do I apply for aid?

To apply for either a sponsorship or payment plan, you will need to fill out an online application AND make an initial REFUNDABLE deposit ($300 for events in the United States).

Go to the registration page, click on the event you want to attend, then click on “Apply for  Aid.”

If you do NOT receive all the financial assistance you need, and you therefore want to withdraw your registration, your deposit can be fully refunded.

What if I can’t afford the minimum deposit in order to apply?

If you cannot afford the full deposit, pay as much of it as you can and fill out the online application. We will review your application and be in touch, and you can decide how to proceed from there.

What is the deadline for submitting the application? When will I hear the decision?

There is no hard deadline, but the earlier you apply, the more funds we will have available for financial assistance.
